It's in Your Hands - Vote NO

Members of the Country Club are being asked to vote on five resolutions at a General Meeting on 3 August 2025. The most important is Resolution 5 which asks members to re-classify ALL Vincentia Golf Club land from core to non-core.

Only Club members, both social and golf, can vote and you must attend the meeting to vote.

What You Need to Know

St. Georges Basin Country Club has called a General Meeting for members to consider and vote on five resolutions.  We need all Country Club members to attend on the day. You will need to have your current CC membership card with you to vote.

When:

Sunday, 3 August 2025 at 10:00am

Where:

St. Georges Basin Country Club, 11 Paradise Beach Road, Sanctuary Point

We recommend members arrive promptly on the day before 10am to ensure entrance to the Country Club. We anticipate large numbers will attend and it is likely the Club doors will be  closed so the entire premise can be used to accommodate a large number of attendees. Expect doors to close at 10am.

Please allow extra time to travel to the Country Club due to the scheduled road work on The Wool Road at Macgibbon Parade for the culvert replacement works. Live Traffic recommends to allow up to 20 minutes of additional time travel.

To request a lift with a volunteer, please email info@jbcsc.com.au

The Notice of General Meeting and full text of all resolutions can be viewed and downloaded here. The Notice includes five resolutions which members are being asked to vote on. Four resolutions seek to remove 4 Club directors from office. The fifth and most important resolution is critical to the future of Vincentia golf course.

About Resolution 5

Resolution 5 proposes "to have all of the Club’s Vincentia land be declared non-core property for the purposes of the Registered Clubs Act."

If You Vote No

ALL Vincentia golf course land remains 'core' which means members will continue to have a say about what happens to the land and de-amalgamation negotiations can continue.

If You Vote Yes

ALL Vincentia golf course land becomes 'non-core' which means members will no longer have a say about what happens to the land. The SGBCC Directors (the Board) can, and will likely, close the course, and sell or develop the land.

This land is a social, recreational, environmental & financial community asset for ALL
OUR COMMUNITY SPACE WILL BE LOST FOREVER IF THIS RESOLUTION IS PASSED

Clearing a Path to De-amalgamation

The upcoming General Meeting on the 3rd August is causing great concern in the community.

Our community is about to be split by divisive and emotional campaigns, unless proactive measures are taken to avert it.

If halting the process isn't feasible - and it is understood that there are complications now that St Georges Basin Country Club have set it in train - action should be taken to mitigate the potential negative effects on our community.

The SGBCC Board should issue a clear and unequivocal recommendation to members to VOTE NO on each resolution. SGBCC should communicate this via a public statement to members highlighting the importance of community harmony and respect.

The Vincentia community would acknowledge and support such an approach.
