It's been a week of celebrating the spirit of community and mateship.

Santa supports JBCSC at Sunday’s Husky Markets

With the JBCSC Banner proudly displayed, Brenda (our Volunteers Coordinator) and Al Moore (Director) led a team of volunteers from the Fundraising Committee. Santa came on by to lend his support along with many interested Bay & Basin community members and visitors. The teams enjoyed playing a game of mini golf with the young and young at heart!

JBCSC merchandise pre-Xmas order collection and online sales

All pre-Xmas ordered merchandise is currently being delivered to those who submitted orders.

The next batch of JBCSC merchandise orders need to be submitted online before the 21st of January. So far our short sleeve polos have been most popular, along with white and navy caps, and a new addition (navy polo) will also be available in the New Year.

Don’t forget to purchase your ‘I’m a supporter‘ sticker for $5 cash at TOYWORLD Vincentia. Hurry… our stocks won’t last.

VM Tourist Pop-up supports JBCSC community engagement

Come on down to the Burton Street Mall between Xmas and NYE. Saturday 27 to Tuesday 30 December from 8:00-12:00 each day. Where possible, our JBCSC volunteers will be present to provide information to locals and tourists on the start-up and vision for Jervis Bay Community & Sports Club, with posters and flyers demonstrating the de-amalgamation pathway to July 2026.

SGBCC Christmas letter supports JBCSC

On Wednesday the 17th of December, the St Georges Basin Country Club announced ‘A Christmas Message From Our President’, which identified the Country Club’s support of de-amalgamation with JBCSC:

“The Board has continued to progress important strategic matters, including the ongoing work associated with the Vincentia de-amalgamation. While this remains a complex process, members can be assured it is being approached thoughtfully, transparently and with the long-term interests of the Club firmly in mind.”

There are many legislative steps ahead in the De-amalgamation Roadmap that must be followed, up to the jointly agreed anticipated date of 30 June 2026. Be assured that JBCSC will continue to keep you updated as the milestones occur!

Golfers celebrate the spirit of community at Vincentia

On Saturday 13 December, Vincentia Men’s Golf hosted their annual Xmas Cheer Golf Day with 90 golfers playing a 13-hole 4 person Ambrose competition which concluded with a luncheon and presentations in the clubhouse auditorium. Auditorium access was granted by the SGBCC Board.

Craig Hatton, JBCSC Chair, presented a speech emanating the spirit of community and the need for the community to continue to support the JBCSC vision, and remain engaged with the Vincentia golf course as the JBCSC Board and Project Team work towards de-amalgamation. In his words:

“We want JBCSC to be a place that you call home. We want JBCSC to be the first port of call when deciding where to go for a drink or dinner. Congratulations to everyone who has stuck with us on this journey and continues turning up here to support a future for Vinnie. We’ve always been a strong little club for golf, we’ve always had that community spirit. This club was built on that community spirit way back when I was just a little tacker. It was built on community, it was built by the community for the community. I feel we are back at that same time. Let’s stick together, let’s work it out, let’s come up with new ideas to make this place the best place for all community to share and enjoy.”

On Thursday 18 December, Vincentia Vets Golf also managed to host their end-of-year Xmas golf celebrations in the clubhouse auditorium. This was greatly appreciated by over 90 golfers and lunch guests who were able to enjoy their Xmas lunch and drinks in air-conditioned comfort given very hot weather on the day.
