On behalf of the JBCSC Board, Craig Hatton (Chair of JBCSC) wishes to provide this community update.
Dear Community,
Since January this year, the JBCSC Board, Project Team and Working Group have worked tirelessly to achieve de-amalgamation. With the St Georges Basin Country Club now agreeing to collaborate with the JBCSC Board to secure the necessary approvals for de-amalgamation, a turning point has been reached.
De-amalgamation is now targeted for 1 July 2026, to be followed by re-opening of the clubhouse. Much work remains to be done, but with our large volunteer base and your financial support through donations and pledges we are well on our way.
A copy of the joint SGBCC-JBCSC statement in support of de-amalgamation is published below:

This is welcome news as we move into the festive season.
The JBCSC team wishes our supporters and their family and friends a very Merry Christmas, and we look forward to chatting with community members and tourists at the Vincentia Matters Tourist Pop-up in Burton Street Mall between Xmas and NYE on Saturday 27, Sunday 28, Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 December from 8:00-12:00 each day.
