Joint community success

A very exciting time was had with our JBCSC volunteers joining in on the JBCSC table as part of the Vincentia Matters Tourist Pop-up Stand in the Burton Street Mall late December over 4 days.

A special thanks to 16 of our volunteers who helped share JBCSC’s vision and reaching out with information on fundraising and volunteering. This was well received by our community and tourists.

The support of the Vincentia Matters Committee was very much appreciated with both a warm and welcoming invitation to join their community stand and promote this 4-day presence through social media.

Check your membership is current to be eligible to vote for de-amalgamation

There’s been many questions about the de-amalgamation process and what you can do to support JBCSC.

On Steps 7-9 of the de-amalgamation roadmap are Members Statement, All Member approval and VGC Member approval. Voting is part of the formal process that will occur. Firstly at Step 7, at least 3 weeks prior to voting, there will be a Members Statement and a meeting date published by SGBCC to all members.

At this meeting, in Step 8, all eligible SGBCC members will be asked to vote to approve de-amalgamation in-principle, to JBCSC. 

In a similar process, in Step 9, there will also be another vote with ‘dissolved members’ (old VGC members who have remained SGBCC members) for de-amalgamation approval in-principle.

These 2 votes may occur on the same day.

You can help JBCSC by ensuring your SGBCC Membership is current to be eligible to vote. For those of you who are not already members, we strongly encourage you to join St Georges Basin Country Club before the end of January 2026. Current annual social membership is $8.50.
